Bennington Public Schools Position Description Position Title: Middle School Girls' Wrestling Coach
I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. The student shall also receive instruction that will end to the formation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, selfdiscipline, self-confidence, resilience and cooperation with teammates.

Recruited by: Athletic Director/Principal. Wages: As determined by Negotiated Agreement. Paid Vacation: As determined by Negotiated Agreement. Paid Holidays: As determined by Negotiated Agreement. Sick Leave: As determined by Negotiated Agreement Work Day: Hours to be determined by Activities Director/Principal Pay Day: As determined by Negotiated Agreement.
III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Activities Director Coordinates with: Activities Director, Building Principal, Custodians and Transportation Supervisor
IV. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Be responsible for the development and formulation of his/her program in grades 7-8 b) Oversee a systematic skill development program for all athletes in the program c) Recommend assistant coaches and coach’s aides and officials to the Activities Director d) Evaluate, develop, and mentor assistant coaches and volunteer coaches as outlined by Activity Department evaluation procedures e) Interpret and enforce local and state guidelines for his/her program f) Serve as mentor and counselor for athletes as needed g) Know and follow procedures for dealing with blood and fluids as described in rule books and manuals from NSAA and NFHS h) Arrange for or report the results of events to the news media i) Provide Activities Director with up-to-date roster information for his/her sport j) Develop season, weekly, and daily practice schedules and work with Activities Director to coordinate practice schedules k) Attend required NSAA, local and conference meetings l) Report to Activities Director and Transportation Supervisor all departure times for away events in a timely manner. m) Work with the Activities Director to make sure all required student participation forms are on file in the Activities Director’s office. n) Be responsible for building facility security after each practice session o) Supervise or arrange for supervision of locker rooms before and after all practices and games p) Report and follow-up on all injuries q) Assist in preparation of facility for home events as directed by Activities Director r) Keep updated season, team and school records for his/her sport s) Complete inventory and requisition forms as directed by the Activities Director t) Assume responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities used in the program u) Recommend participants for awards and recognition v) Complete all forms from NSAA as directed by the NSAA or Activities Director w) Represent Bennington in selection process of all conference, all district, all state team members. x) Perform other duties as may be assigned by Activities Director

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift and pull or push articles up to 50 pounds. He/she sits most of the time but must walk frequently and, at times, stand. The employee is required to reach with his/her hands and continuously to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times as in typing. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to the job. He/she is constantly working to meet deadlines with severe time restraints. He/she must see and read fine print such as typed or handwritten materials and have good depth perception (fine muscle control). The employee must, also, be able to hear conversation in a noisy environment and to communicate clearly and concisely through speech.
