Job Title: Substitute Teacher


Location: Varies depending on substitute teacher needs


Reports To: Building Principal


Work Schedule: Varies as needed


Salary Schedule: $165.00 a day & $180 for long-term jobs. Half days are paid at $82.50 per day. 


Position Purpose: The role of a Substitute Teacher is to ensure that students receive quality instruction in the absence of their regular teacher.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid/Current NE Teaching Certificate required, we also accept Local Substitute Certificates.
  • A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn
  • Reliable attendance
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the Nebraska Board of Education.

Equipment: This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines. Must always comply with Bennington Public's guidelines for equipment use.

 

Travel: Limited travel will be required.
